As North Wales premier coastal resort the town of Llandudno is a great place for your holiday. There is a greater choice of hotels in Llandudno than anywhere else in North Wales from small boutique style hotels to large hotels with hundreds of rooms. Llandudno’s hotels have a reputation for providing excellent service combined with the towns wonderful attractions that draw visitors back year after year.

Most of Llandudno’s hotels are located on the beautifully curved promenade. The promenade was built during Victorian times and still retains much of its character today curving from the Little Orme in the east to the Great Orme to the north. The distance between the two Ormes is over a mile in length and most of it is lined with hotels. The hotels on Llandudno’s promenade tend to be the most expensive in the town but many choose this location due to the wonderful sea views available.

Llandudno promenade has hotels to suit all tastes. Many of the larger hotels such as The Imperial Hotel and St George’s Hotel are run by national chains. The larger hotels often have multiple entertainment facilities such as swimming pools, saunas, and games rooms and many have one or more ballrooms with evening entertainment.

Nestled amongst the larger hotels are the smaller privately owned hotels. These hotels are the Llandudno hotels that have built up a reputation for quality and attract the majority of repeat visitors. An example of one of the best privately owned hotels is the St Tudno’s Hotel which has won many awards for its quality of service and excellent restaurant. The north end of the promenade is home to Llandudno’s Pier. Here you can find the large and imposing Grand Hotel which stands just off the pier itself. Behind the Grand Hotel is the North Parade where you can find slightly less expensive hotels that still have a view of the Llandudno Bay.

Away from the promenade are a small number of other hotels worth mentioning one of which is The Empire Hotel. The Empire Hotel is a modern hotel located approximately five minutes away from Llandudno’s promenade and is located at the top of Mostyn Street in the shadow of the Great Orme. The Empire Hotel has a reputation as being one of Llandudno’s finest hotels.

Another hotel worth mentioning is The Risboro Hotel which is located about 10 minutes walk from Llandudno’s promenade in a peaceful part of the town. Whilst not as large as some of the hotels on the promenade the hotel offers an excellent standard of accommodation.

If you’re looking for a more peaceful location there are a small number of hotels on the towns West Shore. The West Shore has views towards the Snowdonia Mountains and Isle of Anglesey and is less well known, and less crowded, than Llandudno’s promenade. The location is ideal if you’re looking for more peace and quiet with the town centre about 20 minutes walk away.

Two other hotels located close to Llandudno are the newly built Deganwy Quay Hotel and Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Hotel. The Deganwy Quay Hotel is located about two miles from Llandudno in the village of Deganwy and has immediately become one of the areas best hotels. The hotel is located on the exclusive Deganwy Marina and enjoys views of Conwy Castle and the Conwy estuary. The Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Hotel is a country house hotel located just of the A470 connecting road to Llandudno. Set in its own grounds the hotel enjoys panoramic views of the Snowdonia Mountains and Conwy Castle and is one of the finest country house hotels in the whole of Wales.
